Airline/Aircraft Costs
LAXTEC CHARGES
LAXTEC Corporation is an airline owned consortium, which represents their interests in various areas of concern to these airlines. LAXTEC also ensures the reliable operation of certain infrastructure equipment at the Tom Bradley International Terminal. This equipment includes:

Fees and Charges for:
MEMBER AIRLINES
Membership Fee:
$70,000 one-time upon joining.
Monthly costs:
Actual monthly expenses distributed amongst member airlines using a
formula as follows:

10% fixed amount, 45% based on flights, and 45% based on passengers.

The current overall average cost is approximately $0.55 per passengers.
NOTE: Monthly numbers (passenger count, arrivals, departures, etc.) must be received at LAXTEC by the 5th day of each month.
Penalties:
Airlines are invoiced monthly for the previous month's activity.
Member airlines expected to make payments to LAXTEC within 30 days from the date of the invoice, otherwise, strictly enforced penalties will apply. These penalties will be calculated as a flat percentage of the originally invoiced amount.
Penalty charges that apply are: 10% of the invoice if payment is received within 45 days from the issue date, and 25% of the invoice if payment is received more than 45 days from the issue date.
Airfield Bussing Costs: Member airlines that have regular operations at the TBIT may be eligible to receive reimbursement for a portion of the cost of bussing passengers to and from the remote gates. To be considered for reimbursement, details must be provided to LAXTEC within 90 days of the event.
Once airlines have received these services and have been invoiced by LAWA, a copy of the invoice may be submitted to LAXTEC for reimbursement based upon an average of 75 passengers per bus, per flight.
Only airlines whose regular service payments to LAXTEC are current will receive the bussing reimbursement.
LAWA CHARGES
LANDING FEES-PERMITTED CARRIERS:
Passengers: $4.06 per 1000 lbs. of gross landing weight.
Cargo: $3.34 per 1000 lbs. of gross landing weight.
AIRCRAFT PARKING CHARGES:
There is no charge for the first 3 hours of aircraft parking. Extended
aircraft parking on all LAWA apron areas is $0.40 per 1000 lbs. of gross
landing weight per day, defined as 12 hours or more. Partial days are
charged as follows:
Between 3 and 6 hours, ¼ the daily rate applies
Between 6 and 9 hours, ½ the daily rate applies
Between 9 and 12 hours, ¾ the daily rate applies
AIRFIELD BUSSING CHARGES:
Busses hold approximately 80 passengers (standing) with minimal seating
available and some areas for cabin-sized baggage. The cost to airlines
is $45.00 per bus trip anywhere inside the Ramp Apron. A "HELP Vehicle"
is also available for the same cost, and is intended for use by passengers
unable to disembark an aircraft via a standard jetway or stairs (i.e.
stretchers and hospital beds).
TBIT TENANT JOINT-USE FEES:
Joint use fees are charged for all public space exclusive of the government
areas, such as queuing space, corridors, and boarding lounges. These
fees are based upon a fixed monthly cost, which is allocated to each
airline based upon a 10% fixed amount, plus 55% flights, plus 35% total
passenger volume through the terminal. This cost is approximately $2.82
per passenger.
TBIT TENANT GOVERNMENT SPACE FEES:
Government Space fees are charged for all space within the terminal
occupied by the government regulatory agencies, such as US Immigration,
US Customs, US Agriculture, and US Public Health. These fees are based
upon a fixed monthly cost, which is allocated to each airline based
upon a 10% fixed amount, plus 90% by arriving passenger volume through
the terminal. This cost is approximately $2.95 per passenger.
TBIT INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS BAGGAGE CARTS:
Although the service is free to passengers, airlines using the government
space at TBIT pay approximately $0.25 per arriving passenger for providing
the free cart service.
TBIT NON-TENANT TERMINAL USE FEE ARRIVALS:
$5.37 per arriving pax
TBIT NON-TENANT TERMINAL USE FEE DEPARTURES:
$7.15 per departing pax
TBIT TENANT COMMON-USE TICKET COUNTER FEES:
Included in Monthly Joint-Use Charges
TBIT NON-TENANT COMMON-USE TICKET COUNTER FEES:

TBIT OFFICE SPACE RENTAL CHARGES:
Office space can be leased from LAWA under a master lease that is normally
in place for a five year period. Current rental rates are $47.06 per
square foot per year, paid monthly at a rate of $3.92 per square foot
per month.
TBIT OFFICE SPACE MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS CHARGES:
Office space that is leased from LAWA under the master lease is also
assessed a fee for the overall Maintenance & Operations of the terminal
facility. Current M & O rates are $53.14 (Terminal Regular Expense),
$15.92 (Terminal Special Expense), $1.24 (Airport Infrastructure charge) for
a total of $70.30 per square foot per year, paid monthly at a rate of $5.86
per square foot per month.
TBIT TERMINAL SERVICES CHARGES:
SKYCAP SERVICES:
This service is provided by the TBIT airlines at no charge to passengers,
although gratuities are customary. The current vendor for these services
is Aviation Safeguards, and the total charges are distributed amongst
the airline users based upon the number of passengers by type of service.
Departure Skycaps (Available Curbside):
Approximately $0.12 per departing passenger.
International Arrival Skycaps (Available inside Customs Hall):
Approximately $0.37 per arriving passenger.
WHEELCHAIRS:
This service is provided by the TBIT airlines to passengers requiring
assisted transport throughout the airport premises. The current vendor
for these services is Aeroport Services, and the total charges are based
upon each airline's actual number of wheelchair trips. The cost of
the service is $39.25 per wheelchair trip. A per trip gratuity, if any, is
customarily paid by the user.
SECURITY LINE MONITORS:
This service is provided by the TBIT airlines at no charge to passengers.
The current vendor for these services is Aviation Safeguards, and the
total charges are distributed amongst the airline users based upon the
number of departing passengers. The cost is approximately $0.27 per
departing passenger.
ELEVATOR GUARDS AT RAMP:
This service is a TSA mandated requirement for all employees accessing
the ramp areas by way of elevators that are accessible from non-secure
areas of the terminal. The current vendor for these guards is Aviation
Safeguards, and the total charges are distributed amongst the airline
tenants equally on a fixed basis. The monthly cost is approximately
$674.00 per airline.
BAGGAGE STORAGE SERVICES:
This service is currently unavailable.
GATE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:
This service is currently unavailable.
Electric Tram service is available for passenger use from the area immediately after the security checkpoints to each terminal gate boarding area. The current vendor for these services is Aeroport Services, and the total charges are distributed amongst the airline users based upon the number of departing passengers.
AIRPORT SERVICES CHARGES:
AIRCRAFT SERVICE INTERNATIONAL GROUP INTERLINE BAGGAGE:
This service is available to all airlines for airport-wide interline
connections. The service is charged on a monthly basis, using a prorated
formula of 10% fixed costs and 90% per use costs.
SMARTE CART BAGGAGE CARTS FOR PASSENGER USE:
Baggage Carts available for passenger rental in every terminal for $3.00
per use. Passengers arriving on International flights have the carts
available to them at no cost (paid by airlines).
MISCELLANEOUS COSTS:
ON-SITE AIRPORT PARKING LOT CHARGES:
$3 for first hour or fraction thereof; $2 for each additional 30 minutes
or fraction thereof, $30.00 maximum per day.
OFF-SITE AIRPORT PARKING LOT CHARGES:
LOT C: $12.00 per day
EMPLOYEE PARKING CHARGES:
LOT E: $30.00 per month
CUTE CHARGES:
Common Use Terminal Equipment contract is currently held by SITA. Charges
vary by airline and number of keystrokes used. Contact SITA for details.
